Marketing Specialist

Reporting to the VP, Member Services and Marketing, the Marketing Specialist will play a critical role in creating and delivering an exceptional member experience through the marketing of the credit union. This position requires an individual who has a strong creative side in both print and digital marketing to promote a positive image for the credit union that projects brand awareness.

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for a wide variety of duties in support of South Metro FCU’s credit union objectives, corporate growth and goals. They will develop, implement and maintain the credit union’s advertising materials via the various delivery channels and evaluate for member and potential member utilization. The position requires a combination of in-office duties, plus supporting branch retail and outreach recruitment activities, special projects and events, and vendor/partner relations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates and manages communications including advertisements, promotional items, targeted emails, brochures, newsletters, new business materials, and direct mail and statement stuffers.
  • Identify appropriate marketing channels for the most cost-effective promotions to grow our brand and business, while maximizing ROI, this includes designing, targeting, executing, measuring and reporting.
  • Obtaining bids and working with external vendors (printers, graphic artists, photographers.) to coordinate the design, development and production of marketing materials.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating community outreach events in a manner that builds and enhances positive relationships with key audiences.
  • Implementing social media strategies to promote the Credit Union and staying on top social channels, trends and reporting tools. Monitoring social media and online channels on a regular basis. Ensure all content meets compliance standards and regulations.
  • Work with branches to establish and maintain relationships. Coordinate meetings, events, and efforts for branches as needed. Assist in coordinating Credit Union-wide special events. Ensure branches are aware of special events.
  • Manage the Credit Union’s giveaway inventory. Confirm orders are correct and arrive in a timely manner. Work with business development and branches to ensure items needed for upcoming events are in stock. Track inventories.
  • Assist in managing community requests for sponsorships, giveaways and donations.
  • Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.

Additional Duties:

  • Participate in and/or attend various events during or after business hours in order to promote SMFCU in a professional manner while increasing the credit union’s presence in the community.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or marketing plus 1-3 years related experience or 8 years of related industry/financial institution experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment with conflicting and changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make strong product or service recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills as well as strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with great initiative; able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), email marketing tools, social media and digital marketing software.
  • Compliance education and oriented.
  • Proactively reach out or discover resources to determine solutions.
  • Identify and develop efficient standard operating procedures.

Information Technology – Help Desk

South Metro Federal Credit Union is excited to add an experienced IT/Help Desk position to our fast growing and successful credit union team.

This person will be a KEY member of our IT team and will be responsible for assisting in the implementation, configuration and support of the systems utilized by the credit union.

Responsibilities include:

  • Triage existing IT issues and perform basic IT activities to ensure that the credit union staff have the highest level of system productivity.
  • Assisting with implementation, configuration, maintenance and access grants of the various operational systems and processes within the credit union.
  • Manage the necessary provider cases to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Participate on implementation teams representing the interests of the department.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the IT help desk issues and seek to resolve the issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Professionally communicate with all staff regarding their IT or Operations issues and proposed solutions.
  • Assist in obtaining operational reports for all areas of the credit union.
  • May require transporting objects up to 25 lbs., such as computers, throughout the locations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology plus 1-2 years of financial industry or IT experience or 3 years of financial industry or IT experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced demanding environment with conflicting and changing priorities; flexible schedule in working late evenings/early mornings on occasion.
  • Demonstrated experience of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Previous experience in carrying out web-based research and compiling research finds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels using courtesy and discretion.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with tact and confidentiality.

Branch Manager

South Metro Federal Credit Union is excited to add an experienced Branch Manager to our fast growing and successful credit union team. SMFCU has locations in both the Prior Lake and Shakopee areas.

This person will be a KEY member of our Member Services team and will be responsible for directing and managing the team responsible for the sales and member service associated with the credit union’s retail products and services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing a well-trained, motivated and service oriented staff.
  • Leading staff to accurately, professionally and confidentially provide service to our membership.
  • Applying policies and procedures set for the branch. Ensure compliance within credit union, and federal and state laws and regulations, and other regulatory agencies. Adhere to and enforce all Credit Union Policies and Procedures including BSA.
  • Managing scheduling.
  • Responsibility for maintaining proper controls, balancing of all branch transactions, and overseeing staff accountability and assisting in resolving discrepancies. Will conduct cash verifications according to credit union policies.
  • Coaching and counseling employees to exceed their performance.
  • Accurately tracking and reporting in a timely manner on various sales goals and activities associated with the retail functions of the credit union.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of the Member Service team to ensure highest level of service to our Members.
  • Training the staff on new products, services, and procedures.
  • Participating on teams for the development of new products and services, or system or process changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in the credit union or banking industry.
  • Previous experience as a Branch Manager is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience of a sales and service-oriented team is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Retail and Credit Union compliance is required.
  • Proven record of providing exceptional member service.
  • Proficient PC skills – MSWord/Excel.
  • Self-motivated and ability to multi-task.

Member Service Representative Full-Time

As a valued colleague of SMFCU, you play a critical role in delivering an exceptional Member experience during every interaction. This unique position requires an individual who has a strong commitment to consultative Member service, in an environment where growth is occurring in all business lines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately processing transactions related to teller services, cash management, and new depository account opening: including checking, savings, certificates, and HSA and IRA accounts
  • Making referrals to other departments within the Credit Union as appropriate, such as mortgage lending and business lending
  • Generating new consumer loans that are less complex in nature
  • Acting as a point of first impression for SMFCU, this individual must possess and deliver a commitment to Member service, satisfaction and loyalty
  • Engaging and building strong relationships with new and existing Members to effectively identify and make recommendations to solve their financial needs: including, but not limited to, new products, services and technology-based solutions.
  • Operating in full compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations and laws

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years financial institution experience, including teller and new account opening responsibilities preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional Customer/Member service
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal presentation skills, with the ability to make strong product or service recommendations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
