Branch Manager

South Metro Federal Credit Union is excited to add an experienced Branch Manager to our fast growing and successful credit union team. SMFCU has locations in both the Prior Lake and Shakopee areas.

This person will be a KEY member of our Member Services team and will be responsible for directing and managing the team responsible for the sales and member service associated with the credit union’s retail products and services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing a well-trained, motivated and service oriented staff.
  • Leading staff to accurately, professionally and confidentially provide service to our membership.
  • Applying policies and procedures set for the branch. Ensure compliance within credit union, and federal and state laws and regulations, and other regulatory agencies. Adhere to and enforce all Credit Union Policies and Procedures including BSA.
  • Managing scheduling.
  • Responsibility for maintaining proper controls, balancing of all branch transactions, and overseeing staff accountability and assisting in resolving discrepancies. Will conduct cash verifications according to credit union policies.
  • Coaching and counseling employees to exceed their performance.
  • Accurately tracking and reporting in a timely manner on various sales goals and activities associated with the retail functions of the credit union.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of the Member Service team to ensure highest level of service to our Members.
  • Training the staff on new products, services, and procedures.
  • Participating on teams for the development of new products and services, or system or process changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in the credit union or banking industry.
  • Previous experience as a Branch Manager is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience of a sales and service-oriented team is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Retail and Credit Union compliance is required.
  • Proven record of providing exceptional member service.
  • Proficient PC skills – MSWord/Excel.
  • Self-motivated and ability to multi-task.

Member Service Representative Full-Time

As a valued colleague of SMFCU, you play a critical role in delivering an exceptional Member experience during every interaction. This unique position requires an individual who has a strong commitment to consultative Member service, in an environment where growth is occurring in all business lines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately processing transactions related to teller services, cash management, and new depository account opening: including checking, savings, certificates, and HSA and IRA accounts
  • Making referrals to other departments within the Credit Union as appropriate, such as mortgage lending and business lending
  • Generating new consumer loans that are less complex in nature
  • Acting as a point of first impression for SMFCU, this individual must possess and deliver a commitment to Member service, satisfaction and loyalty
  • Engaging and building strong relationships with new and existing Members to effectively identify and make recommendations to solve their financial needs: including, but not limited to, new products, services and technology-based solutions.
  • Operating in full compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations and laws

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years financial institution experience, including teller and new account opening responsibilities preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional Customer/Member service
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal presentation skills, with the ability to make strong product or service recommendations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
